Settling in nicely…

It’s been a busy month for Danbro but we’ve settled nicely into Jubilee House and loving it!  It’s a fabulous location with wonderful views.  It was a big move from our four units in Blackpool to one Head Office in Lytham but everything went well and it was business as usual right from the off!

Our new address is Jubilee House, East Beach, Lytham FY8 5FT.

Jubilee House...a fabulous building!

Jubilee House…a fabulous building!

Hard hats and hi vis jackets at the ready…

All the staff at Danbro had the opportunity to tour Jubilee House throughout the week of the 10th November.  It was fantastic to see what’s been happening both inside and out.  It’s been an incredible journey watching the development change over the months (our thanks to Christian Allen for producing the photographic evidence!) and now we are gearing up for the actual move.

Only 6 weeks to go and Danbro will be in our new, beautiful offices.

Congratulations…!!

Congratulations to the Friends of the Estuary, Lytham on achieving the 2014 It’s your Neighbourhood Award gaining Level 5: Outstanding.  This award is from the Royal Horticultural Society and North West in Bloom.

A well deserved award!

A well deserved award!

This is a fantastic achievement for a group of local volunteers who came together in 2008, with the goal of improving the condition and appearance of the local area, from weekly beach cleans to beautiful flower arrangements.

Here’s Meg and Michelle receiving their certificate.

Well done Friends of the Estuary from us all at Danbro!

Time is flying by…

So where did September go…it simply flew by!

It’s been another busy month and the sense of urgency about what still needs to be done is growing.  On site workers are putting in 7 day weeks and with only 10 weeks to go everything that doesn’t run smoothly adds to the pressure.  That said things are looking great and we are very happy with progress.

In addition, there is a frenzy of activity within Danbro:- choosing fabrics; forming a working party to equip the gym; travel surveys; canteen surveys; colour schemes; deciding on locations of notice boards and health and safety information.

It’s not all hard graft and there are some perks on the horizon such as our upcoming coffee tasting session!

The Lytham Beach Clean up!

Today (23.04.14) the Friends of the Estuary Coastal Care Group, Conlon Construction and Danbro took part in a beach clean up.  This is something the Friends of the Estuary Coastal Care Group do every week but this time we were able to join them!

All ready to go!

All ready to go!

We met at 1030 am at Jubilee House  where Meg from the Friends of the Estuary, gave us a brief overview of what the clean up was all about.  It’s not just about maintaining the award winning surrounding beaches of Lytham but also about trying to protect the birds and wildlife, many of which are hurt or even killed by the debris swept up and rubbish left on the beaches.

Following a quick Health & Safety briefing by Jim we were split into teams, given our instructions (the buddy system and to have fun) and off we went.

Dylan from Danbro...it was windy!

Within a matter of minutes the amount of rubbish collected was unbelievable…from bottles, cans, crisp packets, lighters, car tyres, huge pieces of metal and 100s of plastic bags!   And when the bin bags were full we called it a day (although many wanted to continue).  But what a great achievement and fabulous team work!

At the end of the clean up!

Watch this space for further information of the next one – hopefully even more people can join us!
