Congratulations to the Friends of the Estuary, Lytham on achieving the 2014 It’s your Neighbourhood Award gaining Level 5: Outstanding. This award is from the Royal Horticultural Society and North West in Bloom.
A well deserved award!
This is a fantastic achievement for a group of local volunteers who came together in 2008, with the goal of improving the condition and appearance of the local area, from weekly beach cleans to beautiful flower arrangements.
Here’s Meg and Michelle receiving their certificate.

Well done Friends of the Estuary from us all at Danbro!
As you can see from the photographs the curved steelwork, which forms the roof over the Green Room at Jubilee House, is now under construction. It looks incredible!
P.S. For more info on the ‘Rotunda’ construction & all other aspects of the development, don’t forget to also check out & keep right up to date, week-by-week, on our detailed ‘Development Blog’
Please note, that in addition to the weekly development update that can be found on this blog you can also see regular updated news on the ‘Site Information Board’ directly outside the main site entrance.

Yesterday the Danbro Design team met with Gary and Ann from the Brothers of Charity and Helen from a company called, Harmony, regarding the layout and design of the kitchen, servery, canteen and coffee shop area…all progressing really nicely.
There’s so much to think about when designing a kitchen but whilst it was quite a long meeting it was extremely productive (and I learnt a huge amount about the different types of cookers/fridges and freezers available!).
It’s going to be fabulous when it’s finished.
Desk tops, desk dividers and carpets all still to be chosen and there’s a huge selection out there! At the recent Steering Committee meeting we narrowed it down to a range of colours and textures. It’s very exciting for us to be involved in the way Jubilee House will look inside but daunting at the same time as a decision needs to be made soon!
Carpet samples and desk divider!
Our new desks!
If you’ve ever wondered how everyone working on a large development, such as Jubilee House, knows exactly what to do and when, well, it’s because key members of the workforce attend Gordon’s (Site Manager) weekly update meeting!
Every Friday morning, Gordon sets out the week’s work requirements and expectations (basically a very long and detailed list of jobs for the coming week!). A very busy team meeting…but tea and biscuits are provided!
Team Meeting at Jubilee House!
Pearl White and Tuscan Red.
We submitted the final choice of materials for the external elevations to Fylde Borough Council in January 2014. The Planners approved these timeously which enabled the materials to be ordered to meet the construction schedule.
The approved colours for the rainwater cladding are Tuscan Red and Pearl White (see samples in attached photo). These colours are consistent with the original colour scheme for the refurbished and extended building as designed by Manning Elliot Architects, as shown in the banner at the top of the page. The cladding was specifically selected to complement the colour and texture of the traditional brick materials of Lytham. The materials will greatly enhance the building of Jubilee House and bring it into the 21st Century in a way that is sympathetic with its surroundings.
Update from Jane Fox, Fox Planning Consultancy

On the 5th August 2013 at exactly 5.15pm Planning Permission was issued for Jubilee House.
Discharge of Conditions application was submitted to Fylde Borough Council on Friday in anticipation of the approval.
Fingers crossed the application is approved without delay,
On the 2nd August 2013 we received exciting news from Napthens Solicitors advising that the S106 Agreement had been signed. This meant that the issue planning consent was imminent. (Since the FBC Committee approval on 22nd May 2013 the Solicitors had been working together on the S106 terms).
Such a relief to hear this news!!
Jane Fox, Planning & Development Consultant, Fox Planning Consultancy
We’re delighted to introduce you to Jane, our planning champion for Jubilee House.
Jane, Planning & Development Consultant, Fox Planning Consultancy – acted as planning consultant and coordinator in the pre-application consultation with Fylde Borough Council and submission of the planning application for Danbro’s new HQ at Jubilee House involving alterations, extensions, demolition and erection of 20 apartments. Jane worked closely with the Design Team to address all planning issues including planning policy requirements, contaminated land, flood risk, landscaping, retention of TPO trees, ecological issues, coastal footpath enhancement scheme etc. This turned out to be quite a complex scheme and Danbro’s Design Team included architects, structural engineers, drainage engineers, quantity surveyors and contamination experts to name just a few. Jane’s involvement commenced in March 2012 and continued through the pre-application consultations with FBC, working with the Design Team on the details of the application drawings, submission of the planning application in December 2012, negotiation with FBC planning officers, liaison with Design Team members, statutory consultees and Solicitors and submission of Discharge of Conditions application in August 2013.
Fabulous work and contribution to the team…thank you Jane.
