Danbro appoints Conlon to deliver multimillion pound Jubilee House project

Conlon Construction has been appointed by contractor accountancy and payroll specialist Danbro to deliver the landmark Jubilee House redevelopment in Lytham following a competitive tender.

Danbro which provides accountancy services to around 6,000 freelancers, contract workers and consultants throughout the UK, bought the former Land Registry building in 2012.

Five firms tendered for the contract with Preston-based Conlon winning out. Work to transform the iconic building, which will become Danbro’s new headquarters, is scheduled to complete in October 2014.

Danbro managing director Damian Broughton said: “Jubilee House is a building with unbelievable potential and one of the largest office developments currently taking place in the North West. As well as winning out on cost, Conlon has a fantastic reputation for quality and delivery so we are thrilled to be partnering with the firm and cannot wait to get the project underway.”

Helen Broughton, co-founder and director of people and standards at Danbro added: “Like Danbro, the team at Conlon has a strong community ethos and truly appreciates the potential of this project to turbo-charge the regeneration of the Fylde Coast and create jobs for Lancashire. We look forward to working closely with the team as the build progresses.”

Michael Conlon, chairman at Conlon Construction, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been appointed by Danbro, a well-known company which has a strong reputation across Lancashire and the North West. This is a landmark project, not only due to its nature, but also its prominent location and we are looking forward to starting work on site.”

When the Jubilee House renovation completes, Danbro will be offering up to 20,000 sq ft of office space for rent including space for incubator units for small business start-ups and social enterprises.
